Inti Raymi
June 24

Inti Raymi, meaning “Festival of the Sun” in Quecha, is an ancient Inca festival celebrated annually on June 24th in Cusco, Peru. It is the most important festival of the Inca Empire and is now a reenactment of the religious ceremony to honor the sun god Inti. The modern festival includes colorful parades, traditional dances, and a reenactment of the ceremony at the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, though it is a peaceful adaptation of the original event.
